📋 WHS Regulations 2012
Under the Harmonised WHS Regulations 2012, inspection, testing and tagging of portable electrical appliances in a Hostile Environment is mandatory. A documented risk assessment applies for items in a Non-Hostile Environment.
Visual Testing Process
Prior to electrical testing, ATS technicians conduct a comprehensive visual inspection of:
- Flexible supply cord
- Plug condition
- Appliance body and housing
- Socket and outlet condition
- Covers and guards — checked to ensure they are properly attached
- Class II appliances — checked for deep engraving that may impact insulation
